Gukesh Shouts 'I Am World Champion' After Fulfilling Promise Of Bungee Jumping : WATCH Viral Video

India's D Gukesh, the youngest chess world champion in history, fulfilled a promise made to his coach Grzegorz Gajewski by going bungee jumping in Singapore.

This adventurous outing came after his stunning triumph over China's Ding Liren in the Chess World Championship final.

He pulled off the ambitious leap at Skypark Sentosa in Singapore. The 18-year-old was seen shouting 'I am the World Champion' at the top of his voice and the video has now gone viral on social media.

Here's a look at the video.

After his World Championship triumph, Gukesh admitted that despite his fear of heights, he was excited to take the plunge from a bridge in Singapore.

"I think on the penultimate rest day, we went for a walk on the beach and Gaje (Gajewski) looked at these two guys bungee jumping. I mean I'm personally quite scared of heights. "He said to me, 'If you win the world championship, I'm going to do bungee jumping. I don't know why I said this but I said, I'll also join you. So now I am looking forward to jumping off bridge," he told after winning the World crown.

In a tense decider at the summit clash, Gukesh, playing black, started strong but was forced to retreat his bishop early, allowing Ding Liren to gain control. The game appeared headed for a draw after a Queen trade, but Liren blundered on the 55th move by misplacing his rook. The Indian capitalized immediately, forcing a king-and-pawn endgame and securing victory, becoming the youngest World Chess Champion.

A massive crowd gathered at Chennai airport on Monday morning to welcome their boy as he returned home from Singapore. The newly crowned World Chess Champion was greeted with garlands and surrounded by thousands of admirers eager to see the young star. Representatives from the All India Chess Federation were also on hand to felicitate him.

The celebration featured traditional dancers and students holding banners in honor of the Indian Grandmaster. A specially designed car adorned with Gukesh's photos and the tagline "18 at 18" awaited to escort him home. Officials from the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) and students from Velammal Vidyalaya, best known for producing talented chess players, were also present to celebrate the champion's homecoming.
