Kolkata, Dec 26 (UNI) AIFF President Priyaranjan Dasmunsi today had an informal meeting with the top clubs of the city and representatives of the IFA to improve the newly launched I-League.
Talking to mediapersons, Mr Dasmunsi said, ''We had an informal discussion on how to improve I-league and the general structure of the game in the country.'' ''I have made a note of the points that have come up and will talk about the details after discussing the matter in the meeting of the core committee,'' he said.
Talking to UNI, IFA Secretary U K Ganguly said, ''It was not a meeting technically but was a discussion with the top clubs of the city on how to improve on the structure of I-league. But we talked on a wide range of issues related to the betterment of football in the country.'' ''We also talked on how to improve the national side's performance,'' he added.
While representatives from East Bengal, Chirag United and Mohameddan Sporting participated in the informal meeting, Mohun Bagan was absent, though invited.
