DD makes massive arrangement for Games coverage

Guwahati, Feb 6 (UNI) Doordarshan has made massive arrangement for covering the 33rd National Games as 425 personnel have arrived from all across the country to cover the biggest multi-diciplinary sporting extravanganza.

According to Mr Ramani Malakar, Jt. Director (News) as well as Chairman of the Accommodation Committee, altogether 10 Outside Broadcasting vans had already arrived from different parts of the country.

The DD sports, the exclusive television channel, have marshalled their huge resource and would be providing almost ten hours of live visual feed everyday from the 16 venues of the National Games complex spreading at a distance of more than 50 km.

Altogether 18 cameras will cover the opening ceremony and 10 OB vans will be placed in 10 venues throughout the Games period, while ENG teams will cover other six venues, he said.

The programme and technical personnel have taken positions in the stadiums and test signals are being uplinked.

Arrival of the large contingent of DD personnel have caused accommodation problem as they are being lodged in hotel and government guesthouses.
