DD telecast World Billiards Championship

Bangalore, Sep 1(UNI) Doordarshan Sports Channel will telecast 'Live' the semi-final and finals of the IBSF World Billiards Championship, which began today at the Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA).

Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) Vice President S Balasubramaniam, who is also the tournament Organising Committee Chairman, told UNI the DD would telecast Live the semi-finals and final of the 'Points Format' scheduled for September 4 and 5 respectively.

The DD would also telecast Live the semis and final of the 'Timed Format' on September 9 and 10 respectively, Balasubramaniam added.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister for Medical Education, Ramachandra Gowda, speaking after inaugurating the tournament, announced on behalf of the Government, a cash prize of Rs One lakh each to the title winners in 'Point Format' and 'Timed Format'.
