Debutant Rogers to replace injured Hayden

Perth, Jan 15 (UNI) Debutant left-handed batsman Chris Rogers has been included in the Australian squad for the third Test against India after in form opener Matthew Hayden was ruled out due to injury ''Hayden is not fit, hasn't come up as you would have noticed by the way he's moving around the field today,'' Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting said. ''So Rogers will make his debut tomorrow, which is terrific achievement for him, someone who's ben in the wings for the last couple of years.'' ''I've just been having a chat to him in the dressing room over whether it's a good thing to be making your debut on your home soil or not, because I know what it's like playing home Test matches.'' ''He's obviously very excited and over the moon and has got some good form under his belt leading into the Test match, so it's a good opportunity for him.'' Rogers, who holds the rare distinction of scoing a double century against his own country while playing for Leicesterchire in 2005, will play his maiden international Test on home ground tomorrow.

He was the highest scorer of the 2006-07 domestic first-class season in Australia, finishing the year with 1202 runs at an impressive average of 70.70, which earned him the State Player of the Year and Pura Cup Player of the Series prizes.
