Dejected Harmison thinking of retirement

London, May 4 (UNI) Disappointed at being persistently ignored by the selectors, pace spearhead Steve Harmison has said he will hang up his boots if he failed to regain his place in the England squad.

''The prospect of playing for England is what drives me and if I felt my chance of doing that was gone the probability is I'd retire from first-class cricket altogether,'' Harmison was quoted as saying by the Mail.

''This is not an ultimatum or me trying to impose conditions on anyone,'' he added.

''But I am 29 now and if I felt my England career was over I would be tempted to say I want to do something different with my life.'' The 29-year-old speedster will be eagerly looking forward to the upcoming home series against New Zealand with the first Test slated to begin at Lords on May 15.
