Srinagar, Sep 29 (UNI) Delhi defeated Himachal Pradesh (HP) by six wickets, while Punjab thrashed host Jammu and Kashmir by 94 runs in the Vinod Mankad under 19 cricket tournament here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, HP lost two early wickets to Pradeep Sangwan for just ten runs.
However, Rishi Dhawan and S Thakur put some resistance and took the score to 65 in 23 overs. But after the fall of Thakur, none of the HP batsmen could stand before the Delhi bowlers and the entire team was bowled out for 165 in 48 overs.
For Delhi Rahul Bharadwaj took three, while Pradeep, Vinod Sood and Darshan took two wickets each. Rishi with 66 was the highest scorer for HP.
In reply Delhi reached the target losing just four wickets.
Yogesh was the highest score for delhi with 56 followed by Vartik 45.
In the other match, chasing a target of 198 runs posted by Punjab after winning the toss, Jammu and Kashmir were bundled out for 104 runs, mainly due to excelent bowling by Sidharth Koul who took five wickets.
For Punjab Sidharth Koul was the highest scorer with 43 runs followed by Nimashu 39 and Goel 37.
Sameer Ahmad was the only batsman who put some resistance and scored 29 runs for the hosts.
