Delhi score 8-wkt win over Services despite Viru's zero

Chandigarh, Feb 20 (UNI) Delhi registered an easy eight-wicket victory over Services despite opener Virender Sehwag not opening his account, in the North Zone One-Day Ranji Trophy match played here today.

After Sehwag and Rajat Bhatia returned to the pavilion with the scoreboard reading just 1 for 2, Mithun Minhas and Shikhar Dhawan steered Delhi to victory without any further damage.

They were associated in a 112-run partnership for the third wicket as Delhi made 113 for 2 in reply to Services total of 111 all out in 32.2 overs.

Earlier, only Tahir Khan (49 not out) and Pankaj Kumar (33) defied the Delhi bowlers. Services were restricted by medium pacer Ashish Nehra (3 for 16) and Pradeep Jaiveer Sangwan (4 for 34), besides Amit Bhandari got two wickets for 20 runs.

Delhi were awarded five points and Services one.
