Delhi swimmer wins two gold, Manipur leads tally in national games
Guwahati, Feb 10 (UNI) Delhi swimmer Richa Sharma and Maharashtra boy V Khade steal the limelight even as Manipur led the medals tally at the end of Day 2 in the 33rd National Games here today.
Richa and Khade set the pool ablaze winning two gold each in 200 m freestyle and 100 m butterfly.
Manipur is heading the medal tally with four gold, two silver and two bronze with bulk of the medals coming from the newly introduced Wushu where Asom also picked up two gold.
Richa almost single handedly kept the state second in the medal tally picking up two of the three golds for Delhi with third coming in Wushu.
Khade won the two gold within a span of 45 minutes, setting one Games record in the process, while Richa timed 2:12:83 in 200m freestyle and 1:05:93 secs in 100 m butterfly.
Meanwhile Punjab begged their first gold with their men winning cycling 15x100 team time trail event while Manipur won gold in women's section in the same event pushing Punjab to second and Asom to third places.
