ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Demetrious Johnson added to his list of notable accomplishments this past week. Whether it's inside the Circle or on the mats, the MMA icon's abilities continue to prosper.
"Mighty Mouse" competed in the 2023 IBJJF Masters World's this past Thursday, 31 August, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He featured in the featherweight gi brown belt division, earning the gold medal after winning six matches overall.

The American superstar won five of those matches by points and one via armbar. Those dominant performances solidified him as the Master 2 Featherweight Brown Belt Gold Champion at the Las Vegas Convention Center. And as a result, Johnson was awarded the second stripe of his brown belt.
The competition was Johnson's first time participating in a competitive BJJ tournament. And to come out with gold speaks volumes of his dedication to his craft as a martial artist.
Johnson's success in combat sports continues to showcase himself as an unparalleled athlete. The ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion also returned to the top of his weight bracket last year.
"Mighty Mouse" headlined ONE Championship's first event in the U.S. this past May in Denver, Colorado. He completed the famed trilogy against former ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Adriano Moraes, besting him over the course of five rounds.
Johnson has laid down the blueprint on how to become a modern great in the sport. Many have speculated how long Johnson has left in MMA competition. However, the American still sees intriguing challenges for him in ONE's flyweight MMA division.
No official word has been given on Johnson's next outing. But the flyweight kingpin has stated his interest in other combat activities. Much like his mixed-rules showcase with Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE X in March 2022, where he left victorious once again with a second-round rear-naked choke.
