Dempo, SESA and Chirag United win opening encounter

Jamshedpur, Sep 7 (UNI) Dempo Sporting Club, SESA Academy and Chirag United won their opening matches defeating Sporting club, Mahindra United and Pune Football Club respectively.

Vasco Sporting Club and Mohammedan(Md) Sporting played a draw on the first day of 5th junior football tournament for I-league second divisions teams, organised by All India Football Federation in association with Tata Steel.

SESA academy defeated Mahindra United by 4-2 and Dempo thrased Sporting club by 2-0 on the Keenan stadium turf. In the two other matches played at JRD stadium, Chirag United defeated Pune football club by 2-0 and Vasco and Md Sporting club played a 1-1 draw.

A total of 16 teams divided in four pools are participating in the tournament, with the final to be played on league-cum-knock out basis on September 19.
