Dempo rally to beat Pune FC 2-1

Margao, Jan 16 (PTI) After trailing by a goal in thefirst half, Dempo SC Goa fought back in the second half todefeat Pune FC 2-1 in the ninth round I-league match, playedat Nehru stadium here today.

Pune FC led 1-0 at half time, scoring through KeitaMandjou.

Dempo scored two goals in the second half through RantyMartins (80th) and Roberto Silva (84th) to collect fullpoints.

Dempo�had the first chance to take the lead but rivaldefender Selwyn Fernandes made a goalline save of NicolauBorges.

Pune FC showed good coordination in their midfield asthey came with a counter move and took the lead in the 14thminute through a clinical finish from Keita Mandjou.

�����K Ajayan from the left relayed the ball to unmarkMandjou, who seeing the rival keeper Laxmikant Kattimani movedup, essayed a firm shot from a 20-yards that found the farcorner of the net beating the keeper all ends.

�����Keita again had an opportunity to increase the lead inthe 22nd minute after defender John Dias was beaten by KAjayan pass. Keita, who instead of taking first time shot,tried to dogged the keeper but failed to beat him and MarcusPeixoto drove the ball out to safety. .
