Diamond ball for Best performer in World Cup

Kolkata, Apr 5 (UNI) D'damas, country's leading jewellery brand, today showcased its especially designed diamond cricket ball.

The brand, which showcases jewellery with a blend of international quality and Indian values, has created two diamond balls worth Rs 30 lakh each as a momemto for the Best International player of the ongoing Cricket World Cup.

This stunning piece of art is the first ever creation with 82.2 gm of gold and 30 carats of diamond. Each ball has 5728 studded princess cut baby diamonds.

One of the balls would be presented to the man of the series in the World Cup and the other was meant for the best performer in the Indian team, the company release said here today.

Following a dismal performance of the Indian team and an early exit from the World Cup, the diamond ball meant for them would be kept with the Gitanjali Gems Limited, a DTC sight holder and the largest integrated daimond manufactures in India.

''We will keep it for exhibition. We had created for our players but are dissatisfied with their performance.'' Managing Director of Seven Hills Sunita Jalan, the only franchisee of D'damas in the city, said.

The diamond ball had been rolling across the country, starting from Ahmedabad in West to Asansol in East.

However, the venue of the felicitaion progarmme is yet to be decided.
