Diamond League 2023 Men's Javelin Throw Points Table (Updated): Neeraj Chopra remains atop after Lausanne

Neeraj Chopra remain atop of Diamond League 2023 points table with back-to-back wins. The reigning Olympic Champion threw 87.66 metres to win the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday (June 30, 2023). Back in May, The Indian won the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 88.67m.

On Friday, Julian Weber finished a fraction behind the Indian with an 87.03-metre throw, which came of his last attempt. He is now tied second on the points table with Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch, who finished third in Lausanne with an 86.13-metre throw.

Diamond League 2023: Men's javelin throw points table

Finland's Oliver Helander finished fourth with an attempt of 83.50m in Lausanne ahead of reigning World Champion Anderson Peters, who could only throw 82.23 metre.

Vadlejch had a close battle with Neeraj Chopra in Dohas as the Tokyo Olympic silver medallist finished a close second with throws of 88.63m and 88.47m on the night and bagged seven points.

Reigning World Champion Anderson Peters of Grenada finished a distant third with an attempt of 85.88m and will take home six points. Neeraj also took the world lead with the throw, which was also his opening attempt of the night. His six attempts on the evening were 88.67m, 86.04, 85.47, X, 84.37, and 86.52. He also took home the prize money of $10,000.

The next Diamond League event consisting of men's javelin throw is Laussane on June 30, followed by Monaco on July 21. The fourth and final Diamond League event consisting of men's javelin throw is in Zurich on August 31. Diamond League Final is in Eugene, Oregon on September 16-17.
