Digvijay finishes tied 11th; Mann blows away opportunity
Manila, Feb 4 (UNI) A double bogey on the penultimate hole robbed Digvijay Singh of a top 10 finish as the Indian returned a level-par card to end tied 11th at the 3,00,000 dollar Philippine Open here today.
Digvijay could only break even in his four rounds and his 288 was 10 strokes shy off the winner, Frankie Minoza (71), who warded off a late charge from compatriot Gerald Rosales (65) to walk away with the top prize of 47,550 dollars.
Meanwhile, it was a horrible outing for Gurbaaz Mann, sole fourth overnight, as he carded a nightmarish nine-over 81 in the final round to not just move out of the reckoning but finish a poor tied 36th. Mann fumbled miserably today dropping a triple bogey, three double bogeys and as many bogeys as he went on to take his aggregate to six-under 294.
Rest of the Indian lot faired no better and while Uttam Mundy (75) couldn't improve on his tied 47th position, veteran Arjun Singh (74) finished tied 60th.
