Dinar Gupta is new ACSSI president

Mumbai, Feb 19 (UNI) The Annual General Body meeting of the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Scorers of India (ACSSI) held at the Wankhede Stadium here recently elected its new committee unopposed.

Dinar Gupte was elected as president, while Dara Pochkhanawalla and Shirish Konkar were elected as vice presidents. Ramesh Parab was chosen as the honorary treasurer, Theo Braganza was elected unopposed as the honorary secretary, while Vivek Gupta is the new joint secretary, an ACSSI release said here today.

The managing committee members are S Kishore, Uday Gharat, Deepak Joshi, Gangaram Sapkal, Kishore Lawne and Pritam Parab, while the co-opted members are Rupesh Prabhudesai and Jayant Gokhale.

On the occasion, Ramesh Kumar of Andhra Cricket Association was awarded the Anandji Dossa Scholarship for standing first in the BCCI Examination in 2005, Rahul Rajh from KSCA, the Anandji Dossa Scholarship for standing first in the BCCI Examination in 2006, Prakash Dahatonde, the Shashikant Zarapkar Award for the best book of cricket statistics for the year 2006-07, while P Jayapal and H R Gopalkrishna shared the B W Behere Award for the best article in Anka for the year 2006-07 and Abhay Thatte for the Darabsha Talati Quiz prize for the year 2005-06.
