Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) Former badminton player Prakash Padukone today said the young sportspersons should not get disheartened over non-recognition of their struggle and called upon them to concentrate more on their game.
Referring to the outburst of four-time world billiards and snooker champion Pankaj Advani against the Karnataka Government for not giving due recognition to his achievements, Padukone, in a chat with newspersons here, said, ''Sportspersons, especially youngsters, should not get disheartened over non-recognition. They should concentrate on their sports. Recognition will certainly come for them one day or the other.'' ''During our days, we have struggled a lot. If we have waited for recognition, we would not have achieved our goal. Pankaj's outburst might be due to his frustration against the government. But it should be stopped once for all,'' he added.
To a question, he said ''let the young sportspersons form an association with senior sportspersons to take up their case with appropriate authority.'' UNI MSP VK PDS GC2048
