Dope test cleared, athletes to participate in CWG

New Delhi, Sep 29: As methylhexnamine drug included into specified category, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) declared that now dope test positive athletes can participate in CWG 2010.

Following WADA's rule, the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) on Sep 28 lifted the provisional suspension from the seven Indian Games' participants, whose dope tests earlier were positive.

NADA official stated, "As advised by WADA, the Anti Doping Disciplinary Panel took notice of this change in status and in its hearing of the cases."

His statement also added, "and it withdrew the provisional suspension imposed by NADA on these athletes. However, the panel is still hearing the cases on merits for final decision."

The seven provisionally suspended Indian athletes were:

Wrestler, Rajiv Tomar, Mausam Khatri, Sumit and Gursharanpreet Kaur; shot-putter Saurabh Vij; and swimmers Richa Misra and Jyotsana Pansare.
