Dravid hit by an R P Singh bouncer

Kolkata, May 5 (UNI) Team India skipper Rahul Dravid was struck on the face by an R P Singh bouncer while batting at the centre pitch of Eden Gardens here today.

The incident occurred during the morning session of the team's conditioning camp for the forthcoming Bangladesh tour.

Comeback-man R P Singh who was bowling from the pavilion end of the Edens, was generating a lively pace all through the morning.

Dravid hurt himself while trying to hook one of his bouncers which jabbed into his helmet net.

Dravid, who was bleeding from the cut, immediately collapsed to the ground and then walked off the field with a towel covering his face.

However, the extent of the damage is not yet known. He is being treated inside the dressing room only.

Earlier on Wednesday, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar twisted his left ankle while ducking awkwardly to avoid a Sreesanth bouncer.
