Dynamos outplay Chennai Veerans
Chandigarh, Feb 14 (UNI) Playing before a sizeable home crowd Chandigarh Dynamos carved out a fluent 5-2 victory over Chennai Veerans for their second win in regulation time of the Premier Hockey League at the floodlit Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here tonight.
With this victory from seven matches, Chandigarh Dynamos have collected 10 points so far and were tied with Maratha Warriors at the third position behind leaders Orissa Steelers (17 points) and Sher-E-Jalandhar (14 points).
With a number of Olympians and internationals in their line-up, Chandigarh Dynamos enjoyed territorial supremacy throughout the 70-minute regulation period. The Dynamos forward line comprising Ravi Pal Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Rajpal Singh, Deepak Thakur and Inderjit Chadha gave a harrowing time to the Chennai Veerans. Ravi Pal Singh (14th, 56th minutes), drag flicker Jugraj Singh (25th, penalty corner), Deepak Thakur (6th) and Prabhjot Singh (66th) fashioned Dynamos' comfortable triumph. Drag flicker Raghunath (20th, penalty corner) and Malaysian Khuan Sanmuganathan (48th, penalty corner) reduced the margin for the Veerans.
