Eduard Folayang Vs. Amir Khan II Set For ONE Fight Night 14

It's been five years since former two-time ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang and Amir Khan clashed for divisional gold. But at ONE Fight Night 14, the pair will face off for the second time.

The lightweights will go to battle on Saturday, 30 September, when ONE Championship returns to the Singapore Indoor Stadium. And this time around, the lightweight stalwarts find themselves in different chapters of their respective careers.

Folayang first clashed with Khan at ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS in November 2018 with the vacant World Title at stake. The Filipino standout edged Khan over the course of five tough rounds to claim the crown for the second time by unanimous decision.

But since then, luck hasn't been on Folayang's side. "Landslide" has come up short in his last five MMA contests. Although some of those have come against divisional greats in Shinya Aoki and Zhang Lipeng.

ONE Fight Night 14 will be Folayang's first outing of 2023, and the Filipino legend will attempt to change his destiny once and for all. But Khan will have other ideas when they meet for the second time in September.

Khan has also been riding a similar wave as Folayang, seeing a mixture of results fall his way since challenging for the World Title in 2018. The Singaporean talent hasn't managed to connect a streak of wins either. He has fallen to Dagi Arslanaliev, Dae Sung Park, and Keanu Subba.

But in between those results, the 28-year-old toppled names such as veteran Ryogo Takahashi, Rahul Raju, and Ev Ting. Now he hopes that avenging 2018's loss to Folayang will be the catalyst for a new chapter in the weight bracket.

Khan was a young, rising star when the pair first went to war. But now, as a fully formed fighter and man of his own, he seeks revenge against Folayang.

On the other side of the coin, Folayang still has the skill to turn a fight on its head. And he'll hope to turn back father time to go 2-0 against his old foe.
