In closely contested matches, Yaiphaba, competing in the 48kg category, and Abhishek, in the 67kg weight class, both suffered narrow 3-4 losses. Their opponents, Kazakhstan's Zhussupov Askhat and Mursal Nurbek, respectively, managed to edge out the Indian boxers after reviews of their bouts.

Vishal, participating in the 86kg category, faced a tough challenge against the world champion Oralbay Nurbek of Kazakhstan, ultimately losing with a score of 0-5. Similarly, Gaurav Chauhan, in the 92+kg division, was defeated 0-5 by Kamshybek Kunkabayev, a bronze medallist from the Tokyo Olympics representing Kazakhstan.

A day prior, on Thursday, Indian women boxers Shalakha Singh Sansanwal (70kg) and Monika (81+kg) also concluded their Elorda Cup campaign with bronze medals, following losses in their semi-final matches.

The tournament is far from over for India, as Saturday promises more action with reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen (52kg), Minakshi (48kg), Anamika (50kg), and Manisha (60kg) all set to compete in the finals for gold medals. The anticipation for these matchups is high, with hopes of India securing top honors in these weight categories.
