England job will be my last, says Capello

By Super Admin

London, Sep.17 (ANI): Fabio Capello has said that managing England will be his last job - and he never wants to coach his native Italy.

"The England team will be the last football side I coach. Would I coach the Italian national side? No, it simply does not interest me. I wear the England shirt," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

Capello is working on a master plan which he believes will turn England into World Cup winners.

Capello has an excellent working relationship with all the Premier League managers where player fitness is concerned, but will speak to them all individually before the tournament.

He is acutely aware of Sven Goran Eriksson"s antagonism of the top bosses, including Sir Alex Ferguson, in the build-up to previous finals and will not implement physiology tests during the season.

Capello said: "The most important thing when you go to the World Cup is the physical condition of the players, to have the best ones fit. It"s also important to keep their feet on the floor. It"s a long way to the final.

"We have to go step by step and forget what was done before. We have won eight games, but it"s nothing."

Even though Beckham plays an increasingly marginal role in the England team, the LA Galaxy midfielder remains central to Capello"s plans.

He is convinced his attitude around the squad is an example to every player. Beckham, 35, travels halfway around the world to join up with the squad and his commitment will be rewarded.

The Italian was impressed with Beckham"s performance, especially with his ability to retain possession, in the 2-2 draw with Holland last month. He will also sign for Milan again on loan in January to help get to his fourth tournament.

Owen is unlikely to be there alongside him. The Manchester United forward has not played for his country since the 1-0 defeat against France last March.

Capello will continue to monitor his progress at United, but he is planning for a World Cup without him.

The aim has always been to create a squad that was tough to break into and that has been done by creating a winning mentality. (ANI)
