England under-21 footie star arrested for assault

London, Dec.8 (ANI): England under-21 footie star Andy Carroll was arrested on Monday on suspicion of assault following an alleged nightclub brawl.

Cops following the incident in the city's busy Bigg Market, which left a man needing hospital treatment, held the Newcastle striker, 20, reports The Sun.

Carroll was arrested in September last year and cautioned after a woman complained she had been assaulted in Pudding Chare, off the Bigg Market.

The Gateshead-born striker has established himself as a first-team player with Championship side Newcastle this season.

He has also been capped twice for the England under 21s. (ANI)
