New Delhi, Aug 30: The total expenditure incurred on the executive board members of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee was around Rs 49 lakh, sports minister Ajay Maken said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

"The total expenses incurred on office bearers during the Commonwealth Games was Rs 48,81,822," informed Maken.

The executive board, consisting of 14 members and four special invitees, comprised of CWG OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi, vice chairman Randhir Singh, secretary general Lalit Bhanot, sports secretary Sindhushree Khullar and Michael Fennell, president CGF, among others.

In response to questions asked by Shiv Sena member Anand Prakash Pranjpe and BJP's Makan Singh Solanki on whether the report of probe panel constituted by the government to investigate the irregularities during CWG has alleged that the Delhi government deliberately provided benefits to some contractors, Maken said, "The report of the panel is under examination of the government and action as appropriate is being taken."

Asked whether the government has been able to establish the money trails of the funds which have been embezzled during the CWG, the sports minister said, "Allegations in such cases are being investigated by various investigating agencies and action as appropriate is being taken."
