Fan threatens suicide if not allowed to sell kidney for world cup
Jamshedpur, Mar 13 (UNI) A 23-year-old cricket fan has threatened to commit suicide if nobody buys his kidney to fund a trip to the West Indies to watch the cricket World Cup.
Sarun Kumar Sharma, a resident of Mango area here, is ready to end his life if he failed to make to the Caribbean islands to cheer the Men in Blue.
A salesman by profession, Sharma told UNI today that he wanted to sell his kidney to collect money for the trip to the West Indies but no one was responding.
''I have already made my passport from Ranchi much ahead of the World Cup. Since I don't have enough money for the tour, I have decided to sell off my kidney. But I haven't received any positive response from people so far,'' Sharma lamented.
He also threatened that he would jump into Subarnarekha river if he failed to gather the money for a trip to West Indies before India's first match against Bangladesh on March 17.
Sharma, who hails from a poor family, is a die-hard cricket fan since his childhood. He has gone to the extent of shaving his head to create a map of India.
He said he would end his life today if he fails in his ''mission''.
