Well, if you think fashion and sports are as similar as chalk and cheese, think again! Fashion month, which is more like the 'fashion Olympics’ for the style world, is pulling out all the stops to literally embody its title.
Imagine a catwalk where haute couture and athletic prowess meet – sounds like a match made in heaven, right? The third pit stop on this style marathon has seen an armada of star athletes cheering for spring 2025 collections.

Would you believe it, even the tennis titans and soccer stars have traded their jerseys for designer threads! Ah, they say clothes make the man, but apparently, they also make the athlete!
At the heart of the action, Gucci rolled out its spring 2025 collection, attracting a star-studded crowd that could rival any sports event (via Vogue). Among the attendees were none other than Dakota Johnson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and the world’s number-one tennis sensation, Jannik Sinner.
And Sinner wasn’t alone—fellow tennis aces Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini joined three-time fencing Olympian Miles Chamley-Watson at Boss’s spring show. Designer Marco Falcioni must have been smiling ear to ear, especially with soccer legend David Beckham gracing the front row, soaking in the message to “get out of the office.”
Crossing the pond, London Fashion Week welcomed Olympians Keely Hodgkinson and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, alongside soccer stars Eberechi Eze and Marc Guéhi. Meanwhile, the Arsenal Football Club stadium transformed into a runway, with defensive midfielder Declan Rice making his fashion debut. That’s one way to tackle the competition!
And don’t think New York is sitting on the sidelines. Olympians Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Gabby Thomas, and Noah Lyles graced the Big Apple for Fashion Week, strutting their stuff like it was the last lap of a 400-meter dash.
Lee was front and centre at big-name shows like Brandon Maxwell and Tommy Hilfiger, while Chiles closed out the Kim Shui show in a floral, leotard-inspired outfit. “I am so excited but nervous at the same time,” she told Vogue, and who wouldn’t be?
Willy Chavarría turned heads with his spring 2025 collection and a surprise Adidas collaboration. But the real showstopper was Noah Lyles, who closed the event shirtless—talk about putting your best foot forward! “I’m not going to lie, I was a little tentative about the outfit, but it’s a good thing I work out all year,” he said backstage.
“It’s a lot easier to prepare for a runway show versus a track meet. Instead of running fast, I only have to walk fast, which I can definitely do.” Wise words from a man who can cover 100 meters in the blink of an eye!
Just a stone’s throw away, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson strutted into Giants Stadium wearing a piece from Ib Kamara’s spring 2025 Off-White collection, coincidentally debuting on the same runway as New York Fashion Week. This season promises more jaw-dropping glimpses of athletes swapping their jerseys for high fashion.
