Fergie brands FA chiefs as dysfunctional and biased

London, Mar.20 (ANI): Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson has branded FA's disciplinary chiefs as 'dysfunctional' and implied they were biased in the wake of Steven Gerrard's let-off for elbowing Portsmouth's Michael Brown.

That ruling came just two months after Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand landed a four-match ban for a similar incident.

The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying: "I didn't expect him (Gerrard) to be charged simply because it is a dysfunctional unit at the FA. I don't think they know what they are doing. You just scratch your head at some of these decisions, there is no consistency."

"But I certainly think if it was a Manchester United player he would have been done - as was the case with Rio Ferdinand," he added.

Fergie wants more ex-bosses involved in the disciplinary process.

He added: "I wonder if it's worth exploring some managers who don't have a job at the moment taking over that department." (ANI)
