By Anmolg

Pretoria: Japan and Paraguay will clash against each other in Pretoria to make history as which ever team wins will be making it to the quarter-final stage for the first time.

Gerardo Martino's Paraguay, having finished on top of Group F will be determined to carry on with their good run and beat the Asian team. They have a good balanced side. Experienced Roque Santa Cruz will be leading the attack line alongside Borussia Dortmund duo Lucas Barrios and Nelson Valdez.
However, the team will be without their defensive midfielder Victor Caceres through suspension. Antolin Alcaraz could return after sitting out of the last game due to ankle injury.

On the other side, the Japanese team will be looking out for a victory as well. They defeated Cameroon and Denmark en route to the last 16. The team has done exceptionally well with their set piece play. They scored two of their three goals against Denmark from free-kicks. They will be playing the same side they last played, without any changes. The Paraguay defense will have to keep an eye on Keisuke Honda, who has been in prolific form, the midfielder-turned striker has scored twice so far.

Whosoever wins will progress to face either Spain or Portugal in the quarter-final stage.

Players to watch out for

Paraguay: Roque Santa Cruz, Lucas Barrios
