Forlan the danger man: Parreira

By Anmolg

Pretoria: Host Nations coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has singled out Uruguay striker Diego Forlan as the player his side needs to pay special attention to ahead of their clash against Uruguay in Pretoria at Loftus Versfeld.

Parreira said he is one of the dangerous strikers in World football despite failing to score in the match against France. He has earned quite a reputation for himself playing for Manchester united and moving on to play for Spanish clubs Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, scoring numerous goals for the respective clubs and twice winning the European Golden Boot in the process.

"I remember him from the Brazil national team and he always used to score against Brazil. He was one of the top scorers in the Spanish league. He's in top shape now, good form. We have to keep an eye on him for the whole 90 minutes,"as quoted to fifa.com.

The Bafana Bafana had a good outing against a tough Mexican side. They looked like they would come out victorious until Rafael Marquez pulled an equalizer for the Mexican team and the score read 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.

Captain Aaron Mokoena is also aware of the threats posed by the Uruguay side and he said that the team has worked on their tactics, done analysis and are set to play against them.

On the other side, Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez and captain Diego Lugano are looking forward to their match against the host nations calling it a special match. The atmosphere is expected to be high with the home crowd coming in at large numbers to cheer for the hosts.

The players are focused to make an attacking approach against the home team and get three invaluable points.
