Road to finals: Mighty Holland take on Uruguay

Cape Town: Uruguay will clash against a confident Holland outfit in the Semi-finals tonight in Cape Town for a prized place in the finals of the Fifa World Cup to be played in Johannesburg.

It has been 60 years since Uruguay stunned hosts Brazil to claim their second and last world crown. Now, Uruguay is the lone South American nation representative in the final four and will be hoping to make it all the way till the final stage.

The team will be without their star-striker Luis Suarez who has been phenomenal, helping the team reach till this stage. Suarez will be serving a suspension for handling the ball in the their last match against Ghana. Jorge Fucile is also serving the suspension and Diego Lugano is also rated very doubtful with bruising and a stretched knee ligament. Young Nicolas Lodeiro will play no further part in South Africa after breaking a foot.

The Netherlands on the other side made a remarkable second-half comeback against the Brazilians in their last match to knock them out of the World Cup.
The Dutch are forced to be without suspended pair Gregory van der Wiel and Nigel de Jong.

With Suarez out of the side, Forlan will be the key-man for the South Americans as he has three goals in his name, all three goals coming against African teams.
For the Dutch side, Sneijder will be the man to watch out for. He has so far scored four goals in the tournament and will by eying to score against the South Americans. Sneijder's flawless finishing strikes, his visionary passing has been a treat to watch for many Dutch fans across the globe.

Previously the two teams had a group stage encounter in the year 1974 where the Dutch side spearheaded by Johan Cruyff outplayed the South Americans beating them 2-0.

So, Who will it be? Will it all an all-european finals or will Uruguay overcome the odds and keep the South Americans in contention?

The Semi-finals is sure to be a cracker of a game.
