Germany have not at all surprised me: Torres

Spain striker Fernando Torres said that he was not surprised to see Germany doing well in the World Cup.

The Germans demolished Diego Maradona and his boys 4-0, to book a place in the semi-finals where they will be meeting Spain. No one expected Germany to score so many goals in their last two matches, however according to Torres Germany were always the favorites to lift the trophy.

Torres said “Germany have not at all surprised me. I watch German football a lot and I am their huge fan. I know each and every player in their squad."

He added that the Germans who scored 4 goals against England and Argentina is a big achievement.

"They are an exceptional team with some fantastic young players and it won"t be easy beating them in the semi-finals," Torres said according to Soccerfeed.net.

Torres then commented upon his own form saying “It has been a very difficult tournament for me so far. I have not been fully fit, however that can"t be taken as an excuse. I am improving game by game and I hope to perform well against Germany. I will have to improve if I wish to retain my place in the squad.
