Maradona pleased with Argentina performance

By Anmolg

Argentina coach Diego Maradona was pleased with his teams' performance in the 5-0 thrashing of Canada.

Maradona put up an experimental line up with big names like Lionel Messi missing from the starting XI.

The South Americans crushed the Canadians with Maxi Rodriguez scoring 2 goals and Angel di Maria, Carlos Tevez and Kun Aguero all getting on the score sheet sharing a goal each.

Speaking to AS after the match, Maradona said: "I am encouraged that we made people happy. What I value most from the players is the desire they have to prove they can do this and much more."

"The Argentine people can be calm because we have good players that we can put on the team, when the time is right," he added.

Argentina look a strong outfit and look a strong contender to reach the final stages in the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
