FIG announces sports awards

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) The Federation of Indian Games (FIG) today anounced the ''FIG Sports Awards'' to honour sports journalists and writers who have dedicated their lives towards the development of sports and sportspersons.

The award will cover retired and working journalists, veteran and upcoming sportsmen, sports administrators, promoters, and coaches.

The award function will be held on March 7 which will be followed by a seminar.

The panel of experts who will put forward their views during the seminar include Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Secretary Raja Randhir Singh, Padma Bhushan awardee Jasdev Singh, Olympian and FIG Chairman Ashok Kumar, international shooter Naveen Jindal, Dronacharya (boxing) O P Bhardwaj and Padamshree wrestler Satpal.
