First day's play washed out

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) First day's play between Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the finals of the All India Moin-Ud-Dowla Gold cup cricket tournament here, was washed out due to heavy rains.

After inspecting the pitch in the morning, umpires decided that the pitch was not conducive for play and called off first day's play.

Both teams remained indoors due to intermittent rains.

With two days' play remaining, it was not possible to complete two innings and the result of the match would be decided with the first innings lead.
