First ever Indo-Bangladesh Bangla Games to begin here on Feb 24
Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) Kolkata is all set to host the maiden five-day Indo-Bandladesh Bangla Games in the city beginning from February 24, where some 358 participants will vie in eight diciplines in ten venues till February 28.
Organising secretary Kamalesh Chatterjee today said while Bangladesh will send a total of 173 sportspersons, including 46 women athelets, the host country will feed in 185 athletes to vie in various sporting disciplines such as football (men and women), volleyball, kabaddi, kho kho, swimming (men and women), shooting(men and women), athletic (men and women), and basketball.
Information and Broadcastiong Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi would inaugurate the games on February 24 at Yubabharati Krinangan (Salt Lake) here.
The games is being organised by the Bengal Olympic Association in collaboration with Bangladesh Olympic Association.
