Fisichella expects Renault confirmation soon

MONZA, Italy, Sep 7 (Reuters) Italian GiancarloFisichella said he expected Renault to confirm their 2008 driver line-up in the next few days and was confident he would be racing for them next year.

''Maybe this weekend, maybe next week,'' the 34-year-old Roman told a news conference yesterday before his home grand prix when asked about an announcement on his Formula One future.

''It's my target and my dream to be with the team for one more year.

''I expect confirmation again, obviously,'' he added.

Neither Fisichella nor Finnish rookie team mate Heikki Kovalainen, who replaced double world champion Fernando Alonso at the team, has been on the podium this season for the outgoing champions.

Fisichella is currently eighth overall, two points adrift of Kovalainen.
