The Delhi edition focused on consumer rights and drew leaders from sport, fitness and public agencies. Honorable Home Minister of Delhi Shri Ashish Sood attended, along with Captain Akshay Chopra, Shri Prateek Kundial, wrestler Neelam, wrestler Priya Malik and Shri Mayank Srivastava from Sports Authority of India.

“Initiatives like Raahgiri Day and Sundays On Cycle are important steps towards a healthier and safer Delhi. By encouraging walking, cycling, and greater use of public transport, such movements not only promote road safety but also help reduce air pollution and build a culture of sustainable mobility,” said Shri Sood.

The guests stressed the impact of such events in a time of heavy gadget use and low activity. “Taking care of the body is the most important duty of a human being. If you have a fit body only then can you do anything,” said Neelam.

Akshay Chopra, who flagged off the ride, praised the turnout. “It is heartening to see that so many people have taken time out on a Sunday morning to participate in this community fitness event, there is definitely a change in mindset towards fitness, but it is important to keep participating regularly,” he said.

Street games such as snakes and ladder, hop-skotch, ludo, carrom and rangoli contests created a family atmosphere. “My four year old daughter is truly enjoying the games here. She participated in some fun competitions as well,” said participant Minu Talwar, who attended with her family.

DDG SAI, Mayank Srivastava, said, “Fit India is not just a campaign, it is a movement towards building a healthier, stronger and more active nation. Envisioned by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi the Fit India Movement acts as a catalyst to make fitness a part of everyday life.”

Raahgiri Foundation founder and trustee Sarika Panda Bhatt said, “Raahgiri Day has always been about giving streets back to people. Through this special 'Sundays on Cycle’ edition with Fit India, we are not only celebrating fitness, but also reminding ourselves that cleaner air and safer streets are deeply connected.”

The event saw participation from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), Commission for Air Quality Management, NDMC, Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Police and Nagarro. An I4C awareness segment on cyber safety targeted young people and families, adding a public education layer to the fitness and mobility message.

Organisers said the morning at Connaught Place showed how walking and cycling can support fitness, reduce pollution and ease congestion when streets prioritise people. Across India, the 65th Sundays on Cycle highlighted fitness as a shared responsibility that begins in neighbourhood streets and public spaces.
