"There's A Lot Of Pressure": Former Three-Sport ONE World Champion Stamp Opens Up Ahead Of September 5 Clash

New Delhi, August 31: Former three-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex continues her journey back to championship form. The Thai megastar faces America's Selina Flores in an atomweight Muay Thai showdown headlining ONE Fight Night 47 on Saturday, September 5.

Stamp, representing Fairtex Training Center, holds a striking record of 64-18 and a ONE record of 15-5 across MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing competition. Her legacy includes capturing World Titles in all three disciplines, a rare feat that cemented her status as one of combat sports' most decorated athletes.

After claiming the ONE Atomweight MMA World Title in 2023, Stamp's momentum was halted by a serious knee injury while preparing for her first title defense in 2024. The lengthy rehabilitation process kept her away from active competition for an extended period.

She finally returned to action last November, stepping into a kickboxing bout against Japanese veteran Kana, though she came up short via decision. This past June, Stamp bounced back with a hard-fought split-decision victory over Cynthia Flores.

"Looking back at that fight, I must say I felt like I wanted to become the old Stamp again. I tried to push myself, but there was still a little voice saying, ' What if I get hurt again? So part of me thought I should play it safe and fight smarter," Stamp said.

Beyond the mental hurdles, Stamp acknowledged that her extended time away from competition took a physical toll across multiple areas of her performance. Rebuilding those attributes has been a gradual process.

"What I realized after recovering from the injury and coming back is that I get tired easily. Being away from competition for so long affected my cardio, my muscles, my speed, everything. My confidence too," she said.

Now preparing to face the 28-year-old Flores, an American talent boasting a striking record of 9-1 following a victorious ONE Championship debut last year, Stamp candidly addressed the weight of expectation surrounding her return.

"Honestly, there's a lot of pressure for this fight because a lot of people expect me to come back and be the same as before. I want to fight the way I used to and be the version of myself that I was back then," Stamp said.
