Indian equestrian star Fouaad Mirza added another milestone to his illustrious career by winning a gold medal in the FEI CCI3*-S event held in Strzegom, Poland. Riding his trusted horse, Dajara 4, Fouaad delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 30.1 points to top the podium.
This achievement comes at a critical moment for Mirza, who narrowly missed qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics, making the victory even more significant for him. Fouaad's outstanding display of skill and composure saw him earn not only the gold medal but also a cash prize of 300 euros.

Celebrating this triumph, the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) proudly stated, "A proud moment for the nation🇮🇳 as Fouaad Mirza stands tall on the podium, with the Indian National Anthem playing in the background, after clinching the top spot in the FEI CCI3*-S in Strzegom, Poland."
His competitors in the event were equally formidable. Germany's Julia Krajewski, who secured the silver medal, finished closely behind Mirza and was awarded 225 euros. Meanwhile, Malin Asai of Sweden took home the bronze medal.
Fouaad Mirza has consistently been at the forefront of Indian equestrian sports, with his most notable performances coming at the 2018 Asian Games. At the event held in Jakarta, Mirza made history by winning silver medals in both individual and team eventing.
His achievement marked a major breakthrough for Indian equestrian sports, as he became the first Indian since 1982 to win an individual equestrian event medal at the Asian Games.
Following his Asian Games success, Fouaad's career trajectory continued to soar. In 2021, he became the first Indian equestrian in over two decades to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Competing at the Tokyo Olympics, Mirza became the first Indian since Imtiaz Anees (2000) to represent the country in equestrian sports at the prestigious event.
While the Olympic journey did not culminate in a medal, his participation alone was a groundbreaking achievement for Indian sports, inspiring many young athletes across the country.
In recognition of his contributions and consistent excellence in the field, Fouaad Mirza was honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2019. This accolade is one of India's highest sporting honors, further establishing him as a leading figure in the nation's equestrian scene.
