Fourth seed Anushka, seventh seed Madhuri Patere are out
Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Girls under-14 fourth seed Anushka Bhargava of Andhra Pradesh and seventh seed Madhuri Patere of Maharashtra were early casualties as the main draw in the Bombay Gymkhana- TCS All India National Super Series Junior Tennis Tournament commenced at the Bombay Gymkhana here today.
Bhargava faced an unexpected challenge from Jeni Patel of Gujarat, who won 6-0, 6-2 in the first round.
The formidable Madhuri Patere went down in two tough sets to Andhra Pradesh's C.H. Niddhi who clinched a close first round tie 7-6 (5), 6-4.
Meanwhile, Aarti Detan, Sanjana M. Kumar, Amrita Mukherjee, Sayali Patil, Jeni Patel and Sansitha Nandakumar qualified for the girls under-16 main draw.
