"Fred can take as much of the credit as me", says Anderson

By Super Admin

London, July 18(ANI): England's budding new all-rounder James Anderson was all praise for his new-ball partner Andrew Flintoff, and gave him credit for early strikes into the Australian batting order in the second Ashes Test match at Lord's.

Anderson had struck early by dismissing Australian opener Phillip Hughes and captain Ricky Ponting, while Flintoff was persistent at the other end and steamed in at 90 mph and above.

"We spoke about bowling better in partnerships and 'Fred' can take as much of the credit as me for the first two wickets," The Independent quoted Anderson, as saying.

Flintoff was eventually rewarded for his efforts with the crucial wicket of middle-order batsman Mike Hussey.

Meanwhile, Anderson refused to get carried away with a comfortable match position which already has the home crowd believing that a first Ashes win against Australia at Lord's since 1934 could be possible.

"We know how hard it can be to get 20 wickets here, there is a lot of hard work ahead of us. We've had a couple of good days but that will mean nothing if we don't kick on again," Anderson said. (ANI)
