Gasquet completes Masters Cup field

Paris, Nov 4: France's Richard Gasquet has secured the last spot at the season-ending Masters Cup featuring the world's top eight.

Only Marcos Baghdatis could have stopped Gasquet from making the November 11-18 event in Shanghai but the Cypriot dropped out of contention when Spain's Rafael Nadal beat him 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters today.

Gasquet faces Argentine David Nalbandian in the other semi-final later today.

The Frenchman joins Roger Federer, Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Roddick, David Ferrer and Fernando Gonzalez in the Shanghai field.
