GCA announces Rs 5 lakh cash prize to Pathan brothers

Ahmedabad, Sep 26 (UNI) The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) today announced that it will present a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each to Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan for their outstanding performances in Indian Team's victory in the inaugural Twenty20 Cricket World Cup at Johannesburg on September 24.

GCA president Narhari Amin, in a statement here, congratulated the Indian team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his boys for their victory in the final of Twenty20 World Cup.

Mr Amin said the victorious Indian side would be felicitated at the prize distribution function of N P K Salve Challenger Trophy, which is to be played between October 25-28 here.

Besides this, local stars Irfan, who took 3 wickets for 16 runs and adjudged Man-of-the-Match in the final, and his elder brother Yusuf, who also played his part in the final, would be given a special cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each and memento by the GCA, Mr Amin added.
