Getafe promise to eject racists from stadium

MADRID, Jan 12 (Reuters) Getafe president Angel Torres has promised to get tough with fans who make racist chants at games, after Valencia's Portuguese defender Miguel was abused during the King's Cup match there.

''It is difficult to find these stupid people. If we do catch them we will have no problems in throwing them out if they are season ticket holders,'' Torres told sports daily AS today.

The referee stopped Wednesday's match during the second half and asked the club to put out an announcement over the public address system, after fans chanted abuse at Miguel.

Getafe made an appeal and put a message up on the scoreboard.

Last season Getafe were fined 3,000 euros by the Spanish Football Federation after fans made racist chants at Barcelona's Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, and were fined 600 euros after a similar incident with Eto'o the previous season.
