Giannis Antetokounmpo expressed concern over the Milwaukee Bucks' performance following their 140-106 loss to the New York Knicks. This defeat marked their eighth consecutive loss against the Eastern Conference's top three teams. The Bucks, currently sixth in the East with a 20-17 record, saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. "We've gotta get our stuff together, it's as simple as that," Antetokounmpo stated.
Despite improvements since November, Antetokounmpo believes the team must perform better against top opponents. "I think we're a way better team [now] than the November team. We've proven it by playing good basketball for longer stretches," he said. However, he emphasised that they need to step up when facing stronger teams, stating, "They're not just going to give it to us, we've got to take it."

The Bucks have struggled against leading teams like Boston, Cleveland, and New York. Antetokounmpo's comments echoed his earlier concerns after a 116-94 loss at Madison Square Garden in November. He questioned the team's competitive spirit back then and continues to urge them to improve further.
During Sunday's game, the Knicks pulled ahead by 13 points at halftime and extended their lead in the third quarter. Despite two timeouts called by Bucks coach Doc Rivers to halt their momentum, Jalen Brunson scored 44 points for the Knicks even after missing much of the third quarter due to injury.
Bucks guard Damian Lillard acknowledged their poor record against top teams but remains hopeful. He recalled a similar situation during his time in Portland when they struggled against Oklahoma City during the regular season but succeeded in the playoffs. "So no, we haven't beaten the top teams," Lillard admitted.
Lillard stressed the importance of analysing their losses and understanding why they occur. "We also have to key in, look at why, figure out the context and move forward," he said. The Bucks aim to address these issues as they prepare for upcoming games.
The Bucks are set for a four-game homestand starting Tuesday. They hope this stretch will provide an opportunity to regroup and improve their standing against formidable opponents in future matchups.
