Giggs is sure he will leave Old Trafford before evergreen Ferguson

By Super Admin

Washington, Dec. 14 (ANI): Manchester United vintage hero Ryan Giggs is sure that he will retire from the club before his "friend" and mentor, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Giggs told The Times how he has emerged as a trusted confidante of a man he once feared, and described their relationship as "never better" than at present.

The newly crowned BBC Sports Personality is expected to agree a one-year extension to his contract that will tie him to United until 2011 and has stated a desire to finish his career at the club.

But whenever he does settle on a retirement date the Wales wizard, 36, believes that Ferguson, 68 this month, will still be at the helm of the club, taking the Scot's stay at Old Trafford to beyond 25 years.

Asked which of the long-serving duo will retire first, Giggs said: "I think it will be me. The manager is as good as ever and will go on for a long time. I can still see him as manager of United in five years' time, easily, because as long as he is healthy he will have the desire to carry on." (ANI)
