Globosport to oversee Plexipave installation at Australian Open

Mumbai, Sep 27 (UNI) Globosport, India's leading sports management company, today announced that its infrastructure division will be responsible for the installation of Plexipave courts at the Australian Open.

The team from Globosport Infrastructure is one of the installation teams selected from across the world to oversee the installation process.

Globosport exclusively represents Plexipave in India and Sri Lanka and has successfully installed over 150 Plexipave courts across the country. Their expertise and superior knowledge of this unique sports surface was instrumental in their selection for the first Grand Slam of the ATP calendar. The team will be heading to Australia straight after the ongoing Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open 2007.

Globosport Infrastructure Vice President and former Davis Cup player Gaurav Natekar said, ''We have always prided on providing quality tennis infrastructure, and this is a testimony to that. The team has worked hard and this is a well deserved recognition for our experience and expertise.'' Tennis Australia announced earlier this year the selection of Plexicushion Prestige as the surface of the Australian Open. The decision was made after an extended review process which focused on the upgrade of Melbourne Park and a broader programme focusing on the upgrade of tennis facilities throughout Australia.

Plexipave is the world's largest manufacturer of acrylic sports surfacing systems and surface preparation products. Plexipave has earned an international reputation for excellence and dependability.

The 100 per cent acrylic, asbestos-free, surfaces retain color, texture and playability for up to seven years between resurfacings.

Plexipave is the choice of many world-class competitive events, including the Davis Cup, Federation Cup, San Jose Open, St Jude International, Indian Wells among others. In India, all tennis stadia built after 2000, have Plexipave tennis courts installed by Globosport Infrastructure.
