Good response for Champions Trophy Junior Selection Tourney

Pune, Dec 21 (UNI) Over 250 players from all the clubs in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have confirmed their entries for the Champion Sports Trophy Pune District Junior Selection Tennis Tournament for players with less than 10 MSLTA AITA points.

The event will be held for boys and girls under the four age groups of under-8, 10, 12 and 14 at the Navsayadri Krida Sankul from December 22 to 25, stated Umesh Bhide, Secretary of the Navashaydri Housing Society and organizing secretary of the event.

MSLTA Councillor and tournament director Sunder Iyer said that as per the performance in this tournament three players will be selected to participate in the District Zonal tournament to be held at New Mumbai.

Total prizes and trophies worth Rs 20,000 will be given to players apart from certificates and the whole tournament has been sponsored by Champion Sports for the third year in a row. Apart from the prizes Champion Sport will also provide T Shirts and Caps to the selected boys and girls for Pune district.

Sujay Dave has been appointed as joint referee for the event.
