Goswami comes back to hero's welcome

Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) Elated at winning the U-19 World Cup Srivatsa Goswami said he was mighty happy and was honoured at the way he was received back home.

Landing at the city airport, he said, ''It feels really good and honoured. Being a champion is a rare achievement.'' ''It was mixed effort from me. But I am happy with what we have done,'' he added.

Srivatsa's father said, ''I am proud of my son. He has made Bengal proud.'' ''He has always been a dedicated player. This is just the beginning, he will be as dedicated as before,'' he added.

Meanwhile, there was a race for felicitating Srivatsa at Mirpara in Liluah, Howrah district. Hundreds of people gathered near his house4 to receive their local hero with garlands, gulal and redcarpet awaited him.
